Fashion Show!

The night before Mike and I left for Freddy, I went with my friend to a real-life fashion show.

A friend of hers was showing her collection in a small fashion show in a chic little club in Gastown.

That day, she'd sent out a message about it and I was like sure! May my vacation begin!

I headed over and met her there. The place was full of very cool ladies and gents dressed in hippy chic to haut couture.

There were some very scantily clad ladies who still looked to be at the height of fashion and many meterosexual men.

There were professional photographers running around taking photos of everyone and they actually took a fairly decent one of me and Caitlin.

The show began and it was pretty cool with the photographers taking pics of the outfits.

The girls were definitely models. Super tall and super skinny.

Afterwards, we had a couple of drinks and then I took a cab home and left my friend to hang out with her designer friend and congratulate her. I wanted to be rested for travel the next day.

I have a few blog posts in the vault! We've been doing lots this summer. On Wednesday, we had sushi with a couple of Frederictonians who are now Vancouverites like us and watched the first night of the fireworks. Tonight we are going to a fireworks party which is also a friend's birthday party, should be good! Until next time....

Cold Play & Misc

Mike and I recently went over to see how the olympic village is shaping up.

It is really taking looking good and the area is going to be absolutely beautiful after the olympics.

I'd be interested in one of those condos when the olympics is over and after seeing how the area turns out.

It was a beautiful day so we headed over to bridges and had some snacks and beers in the sun.

From the ferry we took a few cool pictures at water level.

We walked all the way around the seawall from our place to Granville Island, but we took the ferry back. We hadn't been on it in a while.
On the weekend before we went to Fredericton, Mike and I and Chris went to see Coldplay at GM Place. We had some beers at our place and then walked over.
The show was great. They have so many fantastic songs that you forget until you hear them all at once.

I can say there was no "filler". Every song was a beautiful song that I wanted to hear.

I heard about how they float huge yellow balloons into the crowd when they play "Yellow", but it was fantastic to see it in person.

When the balloons pop glitter and streamers burst out into the crowd.

Cold play were actually recording the video for the tour in Vancouver.

The show was fantastic and they were giving their 110%.

At the end of the concert, they gave out copies of their CD, "left, right, left, right, left" which was a special treat to the crowd for being in the video.

After the concert we walked home and decided to make it an "early" Saturday night.

This is Mike in front of the tank that sits outside the barracks on Beety Street.

The week after this we were in Fredericton, so I'll blog about that next.
