Mom & Dad Visit

So, a few weeks ago, Mom and Dad visited me here in Vancouver.

Mom was here herself for a weekend and we walked all over the place.

We went to Stanley Park, Granville Market, Gastown, the Japanese festival, the fire works, Yaletown, Chinatown and the Dr Sun Yat Sen Chinese Garden, shopped, the works.

Then Dad came and we did even more things. Here we all are in the morning having some breakfast at the Granville Island Market.

Here's Mom in front of a flower bed at Prospect Point in StanleyPark.

We walked all over the park and finally took the free tour trolley to the top of Prospect Point.

Then we had some lunch at the restaurant there.

We had great weather while Mom and Dad were here so there was a good view from prospect point.

Here's Mom in front of one of the giant Redwoods in Stanley Park.

The windstorm didn't get them all!

I know there were a ton more pictures of the things we did. We went on a boat cruise, went to the observatory tower, etc. but Mom and Dad are extremely slow at sending me photos so I couldn't wait. I'll just have to update the blog when I get more of them.

I know how it must be, being elderly and technically challenged.
Here we all are at Osaka. It is a Japanese grill restaurant which I love.

You pick your meat and the chef cooks everything on the grill in front of you.

You think you won't be full because it is just strips of meat and vegetables, but I'm always stuffed when I leave this place.

I was impressed with Mom & Dad's maneuverability with chopsticks. I was certain they would have to ask for forks.

One of the activities we did was to go to Domaine de Chaberton. It is a vineyard that is near us.

Most of the vineyards are in the interior in the Okanagan, but this one is about an hour away from Vancouver.

There is a great restaurant and a free tour and tasting.

Here are the grapes up close. They only grow white wine grapes here because since it is not in the interior, there isn't the same warm client.

The red grapes require a warmer climate. They do make red wine here, but they have the grapes brought in from the wineries in the valley.

Here are the barrels where the wine is stored.

It smelled very nice in here of cedar.

Here is a picture of some boats at English Bay Beach. This is where we went when we went to the fireworks competition with Mom.
